Touch Time: Digital Watch with Touch Screen

Today’s mobile phones and other electronic devices don’t look and function like they did in the 1980’s, but that can’t be said for digital watches. Wouldn't it be nice to change the appearance of your watch's time display and set an alarm with a swipe of a finger? Or access watch functions that provide detailed information that looks more like they belongs on a Smartphone rather than a traditional digital watch? We have set out to create what you should expect from a digital watch in the 21st century.

NEXT GENERATION DIGITAL WATCH

Touch Time is a stylish and revolutionary spin on the typical digital watch, which has been virtually unchanged the past 20 years. It utilizes a touch interface with the same capacitive touch screen technology that can be found in Smartphones today. Touch Time is extremely easy to use, allowing you to change the time display or select apps with a swipe of a finger, rather than requiring a myriad of button pushes. Touch Time's display is always on, and therefore eliminates the need to press a button to see what time it is.

CUSTOMIZE ON THE FLY

One of the most notable features of Touch Time is the ability to select from seven different built-in time displays with a simple swipe of your finger. The display itself can also be inverted, giving you up to 14 different watch dial appearances ranging from oversized digital to analog time dials. Touch Time is also one of the first watches ever that like your Smartphone allows you to customize the language displayed and supports English, French, Spanish, Italian, Norwegian, Swedish, and German.

BUILT IN APPLICATIONS
Fully utilizing the "always on" high resolution display, Touch Time features conventional watch functions designed like they belong on a Smartphone. Launch any app with a simple touch of the corresponding icon displayed in the menu screens. These watch apps include:
  • Alarm with the ability to set up to 6 different alarms
  • Stopwatch with ability to display detailed lap data (up to 99 laps)
  • Reminder to keep track of future daily events and tasks
  • World time allows display of up to 6 different time zones
  • Calendar displays past, current, and future monthly views
  • Calculator with oversized numerical and mathematical symbol buttons
  • Lunar displays moon phase, days to full moon, and horoscope

NO NEED FOR SYNCING OR CHARGING
Smartwatches are all the talk today, but Touch Time isn't a Smartwatch, it’s a smart-er watch. It offers the functionality wanted in a digital watch, without adding the complication to your life of having to sync it or charge it. Touch Time is powered by a user replaceable coin cell battery, and has 1+ year battery life!
DESIGNED FOR BOTH MEN AND WOMEN
Touch Time features a modern, button-less case design, and is sized perfectly for both men and women. The low profile stainless steel case and soft silicone strap delivers the performance and comfort that is expected of a watch to be worn every day.

Windows lovers rejoice! Microsoft has officially announced that Windows 8, their latest operating system, will be available on October 26, 2012. Windows 8 will be available for all, including existing Windows users looking to upgrade and new PC buyers.
Microsoft is aiming to dominate in the PC, mobile and Tablet markets with the release of Windows 8 centered devices. In fact, Microsoft is actually going to launch its own brand of tablets named Surface, right alongside their new Windows Phone 8 mobile devices.Select buyers of the Windows 7 OS (through January 20, 2013) will be able to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro at an extensive discount.
Windows 8 significantly expands on the Windows operating system in ways you’d never guess.
Windows 8 For PCs & Tablets
Windows 8 will be the first complete version of the Windows OS that is also compatible with tablets and touchscreen devices.
As Microsoft states in the Windows 8 Developer Preview guide, Windows 8 includes “support for ARM-based chipsets, touch, and sensors make Windows 8 work beautifully on your choice of a full spectrum of devices, such as 10-inch slates with all-day battery life, ultra lightweight laptops, and powerful all-in-ones with 27-inch high-definition screens.”
Windows To Go
Windows To Go is a handy feature, new to the Windows OS, that adds Live USB operation. Essentially, Windows will run from a connected USB drive, with all user programs, settings and files intact. This feature will enable enterprise users the freedom to keep their entire system with them no matter where they go.
If the USB drive is removed while Windows is still active, the operating system will freeze, and the user has up to 60 seconds to plug the drive back in.

“Windows To Go is a new feature in Windows 8 that enables enterprise administrators to create USB drives containing complete, managed Windows images that users can use to boot and run Windows on any Windows 7 or Windows 8 capable computer. Windows To Go makes it possible for employees to use a managed device whether they work from home, a client office or in a free seating environment. This session will discuss Windows To Go, its hardware requirements and building compatible and complementary software.”
Windows App Store
Microsoft has created the Windows App Store that will allow developers to publish apps for use in the Windows 8 environment. All applications from the Windows App Store will take advantage of the Metro user interface. The Windows App store will also allow Windows users to browse standard programs and applications for use within Windows.

Metro – The Windows 8 User Interface

The Metro interface is designed to provide seamless navigation whether you are browsing with a mouse and keyboard, or gestures via a touchscreen. In addition, Microsoft has also implemented a slew of new features like a brand new logon screen, a Windows 8 Start Screen, a personalized Control Panel and stylish media playback support.
The Windows 8 Logon screen allows users to login by simply tapping certain areas of the screen in relation to an image, instead of the normal password interface.

What You Need To Know With iPhone 5

Well, the iPhone 5 was not released in October, like many fans had hoped. Instead the iPhone 4S was released. Also released have been a plethora of iPhone 5 news and rumors, and a mild amount of actual iPhone 5 news.
Apple has a history of secrecy when it comes to, everything. Generally they do not release any specifics of devices until the device itself is publicly revealed. However, this does not keep sources from speculating and the internet becoming flooded with what people think they saw in regards to the latest product or what they predict in the future for Apple.
Rumors are generally based on truth and history to some extent. There are some speculations that can be expected to be true based on the history of Apple.
Apple has always released their newest iPhone in June. This was changed with their previous release, the iPhone 4S, which was made available in October. Apple generally uses the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), often held in June (though the dates vary), to announce its latest products. Reports say this year the conference will be held June 10-15. Many sources have released iPhone 5 rumors claiming that it will be released around the date of the conference.
Apple is also planning to announce the iPad 3 on March 7th. Many reports state to expect the release of the iPhone 5 a few months after the release of the iPad 3.
This is of importance because the iPad and the iPhone generally share similar technology. The iPad 3 is expected to have the newest Apple chip, the A6, and also run on the 4G LTE network.
The A6 is a quad-core chip. The ability of having a quad-core chip will dramatically increase the speeds over that of the previous A5 chip. The processor speed of the iPhone 5 is expected to be between 1.2 and 1.5 GHz and have 1GB of RAM.
Reports have stated that Intel is trying to help pitch its chip to be produced in the newest iPhones. However, Apple has recently spent a large amount of money to produce its own chips in conjunction with Samsung, and sources say they will not move away from this current practice. More iPhone 5 news will be available regarding what network provider they will use in the near future. It will be either the 4g network, or the superior 4g LTE network. It should be expected that the LTE network will be the chosen one, as it is supposedly being built in to the iPad 3.
Apple is always trying to maintain its status as a leader in the smartphone market, which would make us believe that they would not settle for the standard 4G. The iPhone 5 is also expected to contain TDSCDMA network capability, which is the 3G standard in China. The iPhone 4S is a world phone, which allows it to be used on both GSM and CDMA networks. It would be safe to assume that the iPhone 5 will also follow in these footsteps.
The camera on the iPhone 5 will be amazing, if every rumor is true. Even if only a few are true, it will still be a great camera. According to a few sources, Apple has recently filed for patents for a camera with 3D technology.
The camera on the iPhone 4S is 8 megapixels. So it is safe to expect a camera of at least that capacity on the iPhone 5. Some talk has been floating around of a camera up to 13MP; however a camera of this size seems a little unreasonable. I think either way, it’s safe to expect that Apple will not slack in the camera category, no matter what the final product is. In the iPhone 4S, Apple produced many upgrades to create amazing camera quality, and if the new camera is just as good, it will be nice, and if it’s better, well then that will be stunning.
Some recent pictures of what could possibly be the newest version of the iPhone have been showing all over the internet. These pictures supposedly came from a reliable employee in China at the Foxconn plant, which helps in the production of iPhones. This source also stated that there are many samples out floating around in the hands of Apple employees, so expect to see more rumors about the design soon.

Bend to Zoom

Some time ago we talked about the introduction of a new technology by 3M that allowed flexible touchscreens and we stated that it was just a matter of time before the technology would be put to use. Looks like we’re there! Last week a few manufacturers presented prototypes of devices with this technology put to use. Nokia introduced the Nokia Kinetic Device (video below) that uses bending of the device as a form of input to, for example, ‘pinch to zoom’ (or in this case ‘bend to zoom’).

And some days later Samsung’s Vice President reportedly stated that their company will come out with a smartphone and/or table with flexible touchscreen somewhere in 2012 (again: video below of an earlier prototype).

Things are moving quickly! And the time between renders of awesome concepts to actual products in the stores seems to get shorter every year!

Ivee Voice Activated Alarm Clock

I would presume that most of us rely on our smartphones as our alarm clocks, since we get to choose the kind of ringtone to wake up to. However, there are others who would like a dedicated alarm clock to get the job done, as it has always been that way, so it is nice to have it continue. Well, since we have moved on to voice commands in our smartphone operating systems like Samsung's S Voice and Apple's Siri, how about introducing voice commands to the humble alarm clock?

No longer do you need to smash your alarm clock to send it to snooze every morning when it rings, and you can always get out of bed on the right side by yelling directly at it. Unlike your pooch, this is one alarm clock that is obedient and actually listens to what you say! The Ivee Voice Activated Alarm Clock will also come equipped with a built-in FM radio and a timer, and it sports a rather generous 5" LED display, where it will be accompanied by  half a dozen natural, soothing sleep sounds, not to mention being able to respond to over 30 voice commands. Each snooze moment lasts for up to 9 minutes.

Gaining Eternal Fortune and Fame

Last 2010 we are required in my English Class to write a 3-minutes Speech and delivered it in front of the class and this is what i have written and delivered during that time...

( to capture my audience I sang the first line of my speech from the Hit song Billionaire by Mccoy featuring Bruno Mars and then ask them the question, who wants to be a billionaire? and soon ....)

I Want to Be a Billionaire

“I wanna be a billionaire so freakin’ bad… buy all the things I never had.”
-Travie  Mccoy feat. Bruno Mars- Billionaire

Who wants to be a billionaire? Who wants to have lots of money as well as fame? Probably majority would answer me,” Me, of course!” then it follows a question, how? Well, there are many ways to have lots of money but I tell you it will not always follow you with the fame that you ever dreamed of. Take those billionaires for example – do you know tycoon Bill Gates, the world’s richest man for 14th consecutive year (but not this year) or even tycoon Henry Sy, the Philippine’s richest man? I think majority just heard their names but haven’t familiarized their faces. Now, if those billionaires died, will the people still remember them as how people remembered Elvis Presley, the king of Pop –Michael Jackson and other legendary artist of the music world? -Probably not. Their maybe dead but their faces and contributions will always be remembered. Their songs will always be aired eternally.

Now of today’s generation, did you know that Taylor Allison Swift’s album Fearless is the 2009 world’s best selling album? When it was first released last November 11, 2008 it directly debuted no.1 on billboard selling over 592,000 copies in just one week. And as of last month, September 2010, according to billboard.com and wekipedia.com, the album has been certified 6xs platinum by the Recording Industry Association of the America (RIAA) selling more than 10-million copies. Oh my! That cost a lot - money money money!

Secondly, do you know that Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta also known as Lady Gaga earned 200-million dollars on her on going The Monster Ball Concert Tour and listed as the 4th most powerful celebrities of the world in the Forbes Magazine last June 2010? She’s really great, not only famous, rich but as well as powerful.

Now, you may ask me, how will I be like the? I’m just a simple person? Well I can give you the best instant way for that – and it is just one thing that you will do and that is to post your best catchy music videos on facebook, myspace and especially youtube. Take Justin Beiber for example- he is not yet one year on music world but because of youtube his totally famous. Did you know that his music video Baby is the world’s most watched video of all time with more than 350-million views leading behind Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance, the former no. 1 with only 300-million views? Great Beiber fever, huh! Did you know as well that according to celebritynetworth.com, Justin Bieber’s net worth is 25.5 Million US dollars and not only that, did you know that he is richer than the President of the United States Of America- Barack Obama? -Awesome!
Next, our very own, from Local to Global artist, Charice Pempengco, also discovered in youtube. And did you know that she is considered as the Asia’s Rising Pop   Superstar by the Newsweek Magazine and worth 8-Million US dollars?

That is Music- it will definitely give you not only money but as well as fame. So what are you waiting for? Develop your skill. Show what you’ve got. Dream high. Soar high. Dream, Believe and Survive.

My Personal Experience of Death

“As you struggle with the mystery of death, you will discover the meaning of life.”
                                                                                                                - M. Scott Peck, M.D
Death is inevitable. No one could ever foretell the exact time that someone will die and no one could ever avoid of dying. No one is capable of escaping death. Death will always be part of one’s life. It is a natural phenomenon for all the things that exist in this world as we know nothing last forever.
Well, many of us have experienced what we so called “near death experiences”. They say that it is a situation in which one’s soul was out of the human body for some physiological disorder that will absolutely caused death if it can’t be retrieved as soon as possible. However, fortunately for me, I have never experienced this particular scenario of near death situations yet like any other persons in the world I have too experienced the other way of experiencing death.

The first sorrow of my life was the death of my best friend-- IVY TALIPAN last December 26, 2010. This was the first time that one of the most treasured persons in my life has passed away and definitely IVY and our friendship was the best and priceless gift I ever had in my life. Even though we are no longer seeing each other and do sharing our joy, laughter, happiness and pains but still our friendship will last forever. IVY will always be in my heart, all the memories we had will remain in my mind and heart forever. At first, sadness ruled my world when I encounter such death, such dreadful event of my life. Yet, as time passed by, little by little, the wound of sadness healed but it created a mark, a scar in my heart and mind. Luckily through acceptance, this scar of mine somewhat turned into a tribal scar. By that time, I have accepted what had happened to me so there are no more sign of sadness, grieve, hurt and suffering can be extracted to the scar but it is now a symbolism for fighting and learning.

I then realized and reached to my mind about the non- fiction novel, Tuesday’s With Moore by Mitch Albom. I have read the novel yet when I was reading the novel I was not so touched or melted by the emotional scenes in the story. I haven’t practiced what should one must be learned after reading the novel that somehow be planted to every reader’s heart. The main reasons perhaps are that during that time I am reading the novel I have never been in a situation of losing someone very special like my best friend or even I haven’t encountered death so far, I have never personally experienced seeing and watching my family member who is dead and I was so happy in my life at that time that I forgot of knowing what death really means. Luckily, God made a way for me to realize the essence of one’s life and that is the way for me of knowing what death means. After losing my best friend I was then caught by myself about the lesson’s given to Mitch by his professor, Moore, who is dying and in the end he really died yet converted Mitch into a better person. I have then realized, Ohh!, life is really too short so I must live like I am dying, I must live my life to the fullest and treasure every seconds of it. I was then in a state of cloud nine!

I must face death every moments of my life because of doing this I make my life more fruitful. I looked back to my best friend’s death; yet, I saw a “good thing” happened to me of encountering that deathly scene that despite of those hurts and sadness felt, I become more familiar with the thought of death. I can say I did grow into a better person after that first sorrow of mine. It helps me to strive harder and do the best I can do. I think every day or every hour as if my last and treated it as a gift from God that I am still here writing this reflection paper, in a good health and breathing the breath of life given by the almighty God. I have realized after facing death that it produces myself to love more of what we so called--- LIFE. I then live with courage and confidence. Generally, my personal experience of death is not all about suffering, grieve, hurt and sadness but is more about learning--- to face life through facing death. Acceptance of dying is an important recipe of living. I always bear in my mind that I came from dust and through dust I shall return.
